Therapist Supervision

I offer supervision for other therapists following the completion of my supervision training through Southampton University in 2022. I aim to provide an in depth and reflective supervision with the following features in every supervision session:

-
Client case discussion: The therapist presents details of their clients' cases, including the work they are doing to help them.
-
Professional development: Supervision acts as a form of mentoring to improve a therapist's skills, knowledge, and creative approach to practice.
-
Ethical and safety focus: It helps ensure the therapist is working safely, ethically, and competently, and upholds professional standards.
-
Reflective practice: It provides a dedicated, formal space for the therapist to step back from the work and reflect on all aspects of their practice, including their own emotional responses to the client.
-
Professional resilience: Supervision helps therapists sustain the resilience needed for the challenging work they do and supports their personal and professional well-being.
Why is it important?

-
For trainees: Supervisors act as teachers, helping trainees learn and develop their skills and ensure they are following the correct procedures.
-
For qualified therapists: It provides a necessary opportunity for experienced therapists to reflect deeply on their work and stay current with best practices.
-
For client welfare: By ensuring the therapist is working effectively and ethically, supervision ultimately protects the client and improves the quality of care they receive.
